Megan Arvidson, MD

I enjoy helping clients commit to their health. From my years of work as a psychiatrist, I understand the impact of medical and social factors on a person’s mental well-being. I also appreciate how scary new ventures can be and that for some people, prioritizing one’s health can feel unfamiliar. I am dedicated to having a collaborative relationship with my clients; and while the therapeutic process can present challenges, I strive for it to be empowering and safe.   Rather than subscribing to a single model of treatment, I incorporate a number of perspectives such as cognitive behavioral, interpersonal, internal family systems, psychodynamic, and attachment theory to best meet your needs. Together we will formulate a comprehensive, individualized treatment plan that may include therapy, lifestyle changes, health education, and/or medications.

I am a board-certified psychiatrist. I earned my medical degree from Oklahoma University Health Sciences Center and completed my psychiatry residency at the University of North Carolina in 2018.

My work focuses on people experiencing late adulthood transitions, work or school-related stressors, grief, depression, anxiety, trauma, and chronic illness, among other circumstances.
